Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo say they currently do not have plans to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In an interview with Games Radar, the Russos were asked about their future in the MCU. It was Anthony who announced the siblings are moving on to fresh horizons now:

“It’s our Endgame, at least for now. We don’t have any plans for now to make any more Marvel movies. It certainly may come up in the future at some point. We have a wonderful working relationship with [Marvel Studios] and a great passion for what they’re doing.”

The Russo brothers have done four movies for Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film-makers joined MCU with Captain America: The Winter Soldier before directing Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Fans will probably be sad to hear this is the end of the road for the Russos and the MCU, but it may benefit both parties moving forward. In the case of Marvel, one way to ensure the franchise stays fresh and viable after the Infinity Saga is to bring in new creative voices that can bring their unique perspectives to the films.
