With Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’ breaking the box office, Robert Downey Jr shared a heartwarming throwback picture with the women of the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier today.
Robert Downey Jr., whose role as Tony Stark was as pivotal to Endgame as it was to the MCU as a whole, posted two photos on Instagram showing the lunch he held for his female co-stars. Downey himself is in one of the pictures, holding out his phone over the table; the other one appears to be one of the photos he was taking.
In his post, he included the description, “#tbt #throwback #flashback to the #Women of @marvelstudios #mcu lunch I had the pleasure of hosting… #girlpower #epic #bts (? @jimmy_rich ) #TeamStark #thankyou,” covering his appreciation for not only the women in the photos but the photographer, the overall epic fanfare of Marvel’s movies and his own part in them.
The throwback picture showed Brie Larson, Zoe Saldana, Gwyneth Paltrow, Evangeline Lilly, Pom Klementieff, Elizebeth Olsen, Danai Gurira, Karen Gillan, and Letitia Wright. Scarlett Johansson seemed to be missing out on the fun. RDJ also credited Jimmy Rich for the picture.
Avengers: Endgame is now in theaters.
