Matt Reeves is looking for a woman of color to play Catwoman opposite Robert Pattinson in The Batman.
According to Heroic Hollywood, The Batman is looking to cast a woman of color as Catwoman. Zoe Kravitz, who voiced the character in The Lego Batman Movie, was reportedly the initial choice for the role, but she was unable to sign on due to other commitments. Still, the production is said to be still interested in casting someone who is black or biracial. At this time, the rumor remains unconfirmed, so it may prove to be untrue as more information about the movie comes to light.
Vanessa Kirby was previously rumored to be in the running for the Catwoman role, but that was untrue as the actress is not what Matt Reeves is looking for. Plus, Kirby may be busy if she returns for the back-to-back Mission: Impossible sequels that are expected to begin shooting very soon. While we currently have no names for Catwoman, we fully expect to hear something official very soon.

Catwoman has been played by women of color in the past, including Halle Berry and Eartha Kitt.
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves, who will also produce alongside Dylan Clark. While casting is still underway, the film is scheduled to be released on June 25, 2021.
