New Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) photo from behind-the-scenes of the DC Comics film features Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) in a new roller derby costume. Margot Robbie’s Harley is set to make her second DC Extended Universe appearance after Suicide Squad in Birds of Prey. So far, set material and the official tease indicate Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will don multiple outfits for Birds of Prey that are relatively more colorful than her previous wardrobe.
The new Birds of Prey photo offers fans a look at what appears to be a roller derby costume that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will wear at some point. Also featured in the photo is Birds of Prey director Cathy Yan, who is discussing something with Margot Robbie.
Although no official footage has been released online, a costume test video from earlier this year offered fans their first looks at characters like Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress and Victor Zsasz. Additionally, a short Birds of Prey teaser trailer screened in theaters alongside the theatrical release of IT Chapter Two, providing even more insight into the movie, even though the video was never officially released online. Still, fans have seen quite a few new looks at Harley Quinn from the footage and set photos surfacing online – yet not this roller derby outfit. That means there could be plenty more from the movie fans still haven’t seen.
Directed by Cathy Yan from a script by Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) stars Margot Robbie, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Ewan McGregor, Steven Williams, Derek Wilson, Dana Lee, Francois Chau, Charlene Amoia, Chris Messina and Matthew Willig. The film is scheduled for release on Feb. 7, 2020.
