Marvel Studios releases the first Black Widow movie trailer, revealing Scarlett Johansson returning to her Marvel Cinematic Universe role.
Clocking in at more than two minutes, it’s surprisingly robust for a teaser, providing some context within the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the assassin turned S.H.I.E.L.D. agent turned Avenger, before sending her off to confront her past, and reunite with her “family.”
The first trailer for Marvel’s Black Widow, which has dropped ahead of the Marvel’s upcoming panel at CCXP in Brazil this weekend, is all about taking a dive into the past of Natasha Romanoff. Her Avengers: Endgame death may mean she doesn’t have a true future, but there is clearly still a lot to be explored with regards to her life as a spy, which this trailer drops some intriguing hints about, with teases of her time in the Red Room and family.
Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei aka The Red Guardian and Rachel Weisz as Melina. The film opens May 1, 2020.
