Black Widow's Taskmaster
Black Widow's Taskmaster

New fan art for the upcoming film Black Widow shows the villain Taskmaster in his comic-accurate costume.

The first trailer for Black Widow has arrived and it’s brought us our first live-action look at Taskmaster. It didn’t take too long before fans of the MCU flocked to social media to offer their opinions on the look, with a good chunk of the fanbase not quite digging the character’s updated outfit. As fate would have it, fan art maestro BossLogic caught wind of the discourse and whipped up a much more comic-accurate look, a piece that’s now on the verge of going viral.

Taskmaster’s use of a bow and arrow is reminiscent of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), who appears in the trailer in a flashback from The Avengers while Natasha is thinking about her family. Many fans have wondered if Renner would have a cameo in the movie, or if there would be some reference to Hawkeye. Taskmaster simply using a bow and arrow isn’t automatically an allusion to Hawkeye, but perhaps the movie will acknowledge the similarities.

Black Widow is set to bow May 1, 2020.
