We may have the cast list for the Breaking Bad Movie. While AMC has yet to officially confirm that such a movie even exist… let’s just say “the cat is out of the bag”. It all started with a report from a local publication in Albuquerque in which Bryan Cranston seemingly confirms it. Still, both the network and series creator Vince Gilligan seem intent on keeping it all a “secret” until the time is right. That being said, an alleged cast list has surfaced online which reveals major implications for the project.
According to a Revenge of the Fans, Cranston is included on the movie’s cast list and is expected to return as the iconic Walter White. The cast list also features a plethora of familiar faces. In addition to Cranston, the rundown features Krysten Ritter, Jonathan Banks, Jesse Plemons, Charles Baker, Matt Jones, and Robert Forster (among others).
The interesting thing about this list of names is how many of the characters met their demise in the television series. In addition to White, both Mike and Jane died during the series’ run. But they plan to bring back dead people all willy-nilly, we feel two important names are missing from this list – Dean Norris (Hank) and Giancarlo Esposito (Gus).
Based on previous reports, the movie will follow Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman after his escape during the Breaking Bad finale. Jesse wasn’t in terribly good shape when we last saw him. So even if Jesse manages to find some sort of peace, he’s going to be haunted by the demons of his past. Bringing these demons to screen through flashbacks would be a great way to… theoretically make everything work for the movie. Moreover, it would allow for more recognizable characters to come back without some crazy sort of retconning.
Nevertheless, One big question still remains: How will Cranston fit into the movie? The actor confirmed late last year that White is definitely dead, but if there was a creative way to include him in the movie, he’d be down to make an appearance.
All five seasons of Breaking Bad are currently streaming on Netflix.
