Just when you thought that the hype was over, it only continues to get better. Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel continues to shake up the box office by shattering the $900 million milehstone in ticket sales worldwide.
This weekend, Captain Marvel brought in $87 million globally. Currently, it has generated $320+ million from North America and $589+ million overseas, putting it at a global haul of around $910 million.
According to Variety, this ranks Captain Marvel as the 10th-biggest comic book release of all time, surpassing the lifetime hauls of superhero movies like Thor: Ragnarok ($854 million), Venom ($855 million), and Spider-Man: Homecoming ($880 million).
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as the commander of Starforce, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Algenis Perez Soto as Att-Lass, McKenna Grace as a young Carol Danvers and Annette Bening as the Supreme Intelligence.
