Captain Marvel star Brie Larson proves that she can totally lift Mjolnir. Thanks to an enchantment from Odin, only someone who’s “worthy” is able to lift Mjolnir. In the MCU, that has allowed Thor, Vision, and Captain America the ability to wield the hammer – while Hela used it prior to the enchantment.
The actor known for playing Captain Marvel recently posed with Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, proving she’s just as worthy as Thor and Captain America.
“Not to be whatever, but….told you I could lift it ?,” Larson wrote.
Many people commented on the post, including another Marvel star:
“??,” Michael B. Jordon (Black Panther‘s Killmonger) replied.
With Larson holding Mjolnir though, many MCU fans will undoubtedly wonder if Captain Marvel could one day lift the hammer onscreen. That’s currently out of the question since the main MCU timeline doesn’t have a Mjolnir in it, but that could change in 2021 with Thor: Love and Thunder. Jane Foster will become Mighty Thor in the movie, and Natalie Portman held Mjolnir during San Diego Comic-Con. If Jane does bring Mjolnir back to the MCU somehow, then Captain Marvel could one day have the opportunity to wield it too.
