Disney’s official D23 website accidentally describes Fox’s The New Mutants movie as a “new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A post on the D23 website rounding up Disney news from this week included The New Mutants trailer that dropped on Monday. In the post’s introduction to the news, the author wrote, “There’s a seriously electrifying new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it comes in the form of the latest from Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Entertainment…” The DisInsider editor-in-chief Skyler Schuler pointed out the mistake on Twitter and Disney has since removed the entire section about New Mutants from the post. See a screenshot of the New Mutants portion of the D23 post below.

The New Mutants has had a long and difficult production process, due in large part to Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox last year. That deal resulted in the rights to Marvel’s various mutant characters returning to the House of Mouse, making them officially usable for Marvel Studios.  The film was originally planned to release on April 13, 2018.

Directed and co-written by Josh Boone, The New Mutants stars Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin/Magik, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar/Mirage and Alice Braga as Dr. Cecilia Reyes. The film arrives in theaters April 3.
