The teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action Mulan remake has been rated and is expected to premiere online very soon.
Mulan‘s trailer was rated by the British Board of Film Classification, which noted the trailer’s runtime as 1 minute and 32 seconds. Trailer Track speculates the first footage may premiere during coverage for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which is set to air this Sunday, July 7.
Adding further fuel to this rumor was cast member Jimmy Wong, who tweeted, “If you are excited about Mulan, you MIGHT want to start tuning into the World Cup coverage starting today. You might see something. Just maybe.”
This would make sense, seeing as it should allow the trailer to arrive online in time to begin screening in theaters with The Lion King (starting with its release in China on July 12).
Mulan is a live-action remake based on the animated Disney film that premiered in 1998. The film will continue Disney’s current trend of doing live-action remakes of its classic animated films, including The Lion King, Dumbo, Aladdin and Beauty & The Beast.
Mulan is scheduled to open on March 27, 2020.
