Lionsgate has officially announced The Evil Dead Groovy Collection, a new 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital collector’s edition box set featuring the first two Evil Dead films, as well as all three seasons of the Starz television series Ash vs Evil Dead.
Set for release on Tuesday, Nov. 16 with a price tag of $79.99 USD, The Evil Dead Groovy Collection includes The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II and Ash vs Evil Dead Seasons 1-3. The two movies come on both 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray discs, while the TV show is only on Blu-ray. The set also comes with The Evil Dead Bonus Content DVD, which includes “over three hours of features revisiting the film’s cast, crew and undying legacy.” The third Evil Dead film, Army of Darkness, is not included in the Groovy Collection, nor is the 2013 soft reboot Evil Dead.
“Horror fans, return to that iconic cabin in the woods, then travel decades beyond it, with this Evil Dead Groovy Collection,” an official synopsis for the set reads. “Wisecracking ladies’ man Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) is reborn as a slayer of Deadites in The Evil Dead (4K + Blu-ray™) after a vacation in the country is ruined by the reading of an ancient demon-summoning text. In Evil Dead II (4K + Blu-ray™), a chainsaw-armed Ash is pushed to the brink of madness by unhinged evil yet again, while ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ (Blu-ray™) follows an older, grayer Ash over three wild seasons as he reckons with his bloody past in the face of a Deadite plague.”

- Directed by Sam Raimi and starring Bruce Campbell as main protagonist Ash, The Evil Dead originally released in theaters in 1981. The film was followed by Evil Dead II in 1987 and Army of Darkness in 1992. Director Fede Álvarez’s Evil Dead, a soft reboot that serves as a continuation of the original film, released in 2013. Ash vs Evil Dead ran on Starz for three seasons from 2015 to 2018.
A fifth Evil Dead film, Evil Dead Rise, is currently in the works, with Lee Cronin directing and Raimi and Campbell attached as executive producers. Evil Dead Rise stars Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Nell Fisher and Mia Challis. It is expected to premiere on HBO Max sometime in 2022.
The Evil Dead Groovy Collection goes on sale Nov. 16.
