Though the film has gone through a period of uncertainty, Warner Bros.’ The Flash solo film is still happening. When Miller joined the (unofficially titled) DC Extended Universe several years ago as Barry Allen aka The Flash, it wasn’t going to be too long before he starred in a solo movie of his own. He had a quick cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but was truly introduced in Justice League. As part of Warner Bros. and DC Films’ original plan, The Flash was scheduled to be the first DC release after the Zack Snyder team-up.
At one time, Ezra Miller seemed uncertain about his future as the Scarlet Speedster, but he recently told W Korea that both Fantastic Beasts 3 and The Flash films are “absolutely confirmed.”

The Flash has cycled through several directors – with Seth Grahame-Smith, Rick Famuyiwa, and (most recently) Johnathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley all at one point attached. The latest exit came after the directors clashed with Miller’s vision for the character, and he wrote his own script. Warner Bros. elected to not use his script though, with Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey) hired to write the movie and Andy Muschietti (IT Chapter Two) set to direct.
Miller first appeared as Barry Allen/The Flash in 2016’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. He had a starring role as the Flash in 2017’s Justice League and made an appearance in 2016’s Suicide Squad.
The Flash is expected to star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen and Billy Crudup as Henry Allen. As of now, The Flash does not have a release date.
