The first look at Jared Leto as Marvel’s Morbius the Living Vampire in Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man movies spinoff has surfaced online.
The original post, which came from @Vullein, has since been deleted by that user, which is why we’re not including it here. However, the image is getting reposted by numerous accounts online, including @AndyThyIs. It’s unclear at this time if the image is authentic, though reaction to the photo in the comments is generally positive, with the fidelity of the look to the comics being singled out. Still, there are some dunking on the image and the film in general.
As positive as some fans have been with their first look at Morbius, others are still skeptical about the character even having his own film, with some explaining how just one image isn’t going to do it for them simply because it’s comic-accurate. With the reported arrival of the official Morbius trailer being on its way, it won’t be long until the world gets a first taste of what Sony’s new film will look like.
The upcoming film follows Michael Morbius, a scientist suffering from a rare blood disorder. Desperate to cure himself, he undergoes a radical experiment that transforms him into a living vampire before deciding to use his new abilities to become a nocturnal superhero.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character, Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Agent Stroud and Jared Harris in an undisclosed role. The film arrives July 31.
