A video has been released recreating what John Wick may have been like were it a 1980s 8-bit game played on the NES.
A fan video posted to YouTube by JoyMasher imagines a John Wick video game from that classic era. The video features John making his way through a dark cityscape, dodging around people and gunning down the various threats that come to him. The game even manages to go even more absurd than the movies themselves, ending with John having to contend directly with a helicopter.
The video plays out like an extended shout-out to games such as Contra. The mission of the game even seems to be rescuing his pet dog, which begs the question: what idiot really thought they could kidnap John Wick’s dog and expect to make it out alive?
Directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum stars Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Halle Berry, Jason Mantzoukas, Lance Reddick and Anjelica Huston.
