Announced this afternoon, the official Jurassic World short film Battle at Big Rock is headed our way this weekend, set to premiere Sunday, September 15th on FX!
After the success of Fallen Kingdom, Jurassic World 3 (as it’s currently being called) is set for 2021 with Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow returning as co-writer and director (he was dropped from directing Fallen Kingdom in favor of J.A. Bayona, though he did still receive a writing credit). To whet fans’ appetites for the official sixth movie in the franchise, Trevorrow has directed a short film titled Battle at Big Rock and today the director revealed that it will release Sunday, September 15 on FX. Trevorrow also included a poster which can be seen in the space below:
The cast for Battle at Big Rock features André Holland, Natalie Martinez, Melody Hurd and Pierson Salvador. Cinematography by is by Larry Fong, with Amie Doherty providing the music. Emily Carmichael wrote the screenplay.
According to website Jurassic Outpost, the short takes place a year after Fallen Kingdom in a National Park where dinosaurs are now running wild, and involves a family involved in a fight for survival after they encounter the wild dinos.
It will be interesting to see what Battle at Black Rock has in store for fans when it hits FX on Sunday.
