In a move that surprises no one, the MPAA has officially given the Jay & Silent Bob Reboot film an R rating.
Exhibitor Relations Co., a box office analytical authority, released the film’s rating and it’s about what you’d expect. The outlet confirmed the film is “rated R: for pervasive strong crude sexual content, language throughout, drug use and some nudity,” also noting, “Keepin’ it f’in R-eal since 1994–only JERSEY GIRL and YOGA HOSERS (both PG-13) weren’t labeled ‘restricted.'”
The story behind Jay and Silent Bob Reboot requires a certain kind of recklessness that only those characters can get away with on the silver screen. In the movie, the two are traveling to Chronic Con to protest a reboot of the Bluntman and Chronic film. What makes it all even funnier is that the movie is taking a dig at sequels and reboots, all the while being a sequel about a reboot.
Written and directed by Kevin Smith, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot stars Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Melissa Benoist Shannon Elizabeth, Jason Lee, Donnell Rawlings, Joey Lauren Adams and numerous other stars. The film arrives on Oct. 15.
