Noah Hawley is in the final stages of negations to write and direct the next Star Trek film.
Deadline is reporting that Noah Hawley is in final talks to write and direct the next Star Trek movie alongside former Star Trek director J.J. Abrams, which they believe will be Star Trek 4. Hawley is best known for creating TV shows like Legion and Fargo. There are no details at the time on when the movie will begin production or when Star Trek 4 will hit theaters.

Abrams rebooted the Star Trek back in 2009. The franchise follows the crew of the USS Enterprise and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban. The original, as well as its two sequels — Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond — have been met with critical and financial success throughout the years.
Hawley is best known for his work on Legion — which follows a young, schizophrenic mutant and stars Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) — and Fargo — a television adaption of the Coen brothers’ cult classic. Legion just completed its third and final season, while Fargo is currently filming its fourth.
