The first test screen of Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford for Star Wars makes its way online. A long time ago on a camera far, far away, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford performed their first screen test together, reading a scene from a then-unheard-of space-opera written and directed by George Lucas: Star Wars.
Hamill re-shared an original tweet from Carl Quintanilla with a clip from his test screening with Ford for Star Wars. In the caption, the actor provided some context regarding the clip writing: “Neither 1 of us had read the script at this point, only this 1 scene. I asked George what kind of movie it was-“Let’s just do it, we’ll talk about that later” We never did talk about it later-we just did it.” Watch the video below:
Ford and Hamill continued to appear together along with the late Carrie Fisher in all three films in the original trilogy, as well as The Force Awakens decades later in 2015. Hamill continued to remain close to his co-stars over the years and often shares fond memories with both.
At this point, it doesn’t seem like Han and Luke will share the screen ever again, and that’s quite sad – even Hamill admits that. But seeing videos like this one reminds us of the best parts of the original trilogy – its characters and the actors who brought them to life.
