Kamala Khan will appear in Marvel Cinematic Universe movies too, following her debut in Ms. Marvel.
The new series was announced during Marvel Studios’ presentation at the D23 Expo in Anaheim Friday evening. Ms. Marvel will mark the live-action debut of the titular hero, presumably the currently-active Kamala Khan version from the Marvel comics. Moreover, her appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not be limited to the Disney+, as it was also confirmed the character will make the jump to the big screen after being established on television.
Following the initial announcement, Disney shared the Marvel series’ official logo in a post to Twitter.
From the very beginning, Feige has discussed how these Marvel shows on Disney+ would be fully integrated into the larger MCU storyline. So, Kamala graduating to the big screen after she makes a debut in Ms. Marvel makes a ton of sense. The series can give her 6-8 hours worth of exploration as a character before then jumping to a role in a movie – likely in Captain Marvel 2. This series could even include the first meeting between Kamala and her superhero idol if Larson is convinced to appear.
Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel is currently in development for Disney+. An official release date has not been revealed, nor is any casting information currently available.
