A new Japanese TV spot for the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog movie features the small blue creature as an even smaller baby.
A new TV spot released in Japan and shared by Sonic the Hedgehog’s official Twitter shows fans an even smaller, cuter version of Sega’s long-running (pun intended) mascot. In one scene, visible in the embedded video below, Sonic appears as a minuscule, flower-holding version of himself, sporting a grin which indicates he is trying to apologize for something he did wrong.
The film stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of the eponymous hedgehog but it’s unclear if he’ll provide the voice for the younger Sonic too. Joining Schwartz in the film is James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, a police officer that befriends Sonic, and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, the franchise’s classic villain and scientist. Sonic the Hedgehog is scheduled to release on February 14, 2020.
