Fans will finally get a fresh look at The New Mutants, with a new official trailer announced for next week.
For a time, many wondered whether New Mutants would go straight to Disney+ or even see the light of day at all. Fortunately, director Josh Boone took to Instagram earlier today to offer the answer. Posting a simple image of the film’s official logo, Boone reiterated that New Mutants would officially hit theaters in the first week of April 2020. To further hype up that fact, Boone also revealed that a new trailer was on its way. Declaring that it had been personally supervised by himself and Lee, Boone announced that said trailer would be released online next Monday, January 6th. Check out the full post below:
This news will surely come as a relief to fans of the characters, as the outlook that the film would be released in any capacity often seemed doubtful. Following its multiple release date delays, in addition to the debut of Disney+ and Disney’s acquirement of Hulu, it seemed like the film could have quietly been released on one of those streaming services in whatever form it might have been in. Luckily, Boone’s words about the project sound promising, with these delays possibly making the film worth the wait.
The New Mutants hits theaters on April 3, 2020.
