A brand new image from Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated Tenet features John David Washington.
Fandango premiered the latest still from Tenet as part of their countdown of the top twenty anticipated movies in 2020. You can check it out below.

If nothing else, people seem to be having fun piecing together the clues offered by the Tenet marketing so far. The trailer shows Washington’s character being “killed” after he’s captured and refuses to betray his colleagues, as part of what’s apparently a test to join the Afterlife. This further explains how he’s able to operate off the grid since, presumably, the rest of the world believes he’s dead for real (unless he is – you never know…). Robert Pattinson is also in Tenet and appears to be working alongside Washington, even scaling up the side of a building in what promises to be one of the film’s many visually inventive and Inception-esque sequences. Never one to lack for ambition, Nolan has revealed Tenet was filmed in seven countries, making this – quite literally – his biggest shoot yet.
Full plot details on Christopher Nolan’s Tenet are being kept under lock and key , though Warner Bros. officially describes the film as “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage.” The film was shot across seven countries.
Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, Tenet stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, and Himesh Patel. Christopher Nolan also serves as a producer alongside his wife Emma Thomas, with Thomas Hayslip on board as an executive producer.
Tenet opens in theaters on July 17, 2020.
