In honor of the Digital HD release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Sony Pictures has released a new trailer… albeit for Night Monkey.
The trailer, released by Sony Pictures Entertainment, plays out with only a minimal amount of winking and nudging. It begins with the words of Peter Parker, taken from Far From Home, declining to suit up. “Come on, there’s gotta be someone else you can use!” He urges. And from there, the imagined trailer introduces Night Monkey as if Far From Home was his movie. Using moments from the Homecoming sequel, spliced together and taken out of context, and even editing the stealthy superhero into scenes that originally revolved around Spider-Man, Night Monkey emerges as a complicated good guy. An intense figure, drawn to the night’s darkness, in spite of the funny name offered up by a panicked Ned Leeds.
Of course, if the Night Monkey trailer isn’t enough to convince you to purchase Far From Home, the film is also packed with special features, including an original short called Peter’s To-Do List, which sees Peter waiting in line to pick up his passport. To expedite the process, he utilizes a spider-bot, which conveniently opens up another window. There’s also a gag reel and never-before-seen alternate and extended scenes.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is now available on Digital HD and arrives on Blu-ray and 4K UHD Oct. 1.
