Spider-Man rescues Deadpool from a fire in a new piece of fan art for Spider-Man 3. Spider-Man and Deadpool have a rich history together in the pages of comic books, but they have gained even more fans over the years by appearing on the big screen. Since Spider-Man and Deadpool have such an interesting relationship in the comics, fans have been dying to see the two characters together in an MCU movie.

Disney acquired the rights to Deadpool and the rest of the X-Men when they acquired Fox, meaning that the characters will eventually be introduced in the MCU. Ryan Reynolds confirmed that Deadpool 3 is in development, and Kevin Feige revealed at San Diego Comic-Con last year that the X-Men are coming to the MCU. While Deadpool 3 doesn’t have a set release date yet, Spider-Man 3 does, and many fans believe that it could be the perfect film to introduce Deadpool to the MCU. Now, a piece of fan art imagines what that could look like.

A new piece of fan artwork from apexform shows Spider-Man cradling Deadpool as he walks away from a fire. Apexform’s original Instagram post can be seen below:

While there hasn’t been any indication that Deadpool will be included in Spider-Man 3, there was a rumor that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil could appear in the movie. Cox denied that rumor, but it looks much more likely that Venom could appear in Spider-Man 3. Venom director Ruben Fleischer has already revealed that a Spider-Man and Venom crossover will happen, so it’s very possible Venom could show up in Spidey’s next film or vice versa. The trailer for Morbius already started connecting the MCU to Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters, which means there’s a good chance of a surprise character showing up in Spider-Man 3.

With there not really being anything known about Deadpool 3, there’s no telling how or when Disney will introduce Deadpool to the MCU. Even though fans would love to see Deadpool and Spider-Man together in the MCU, it likely won’t happen in Spider-Man 3 since the film is already going to have a lot to tackle. Spider-Man 3 is going to have to deal with the consequences of Spider-Man’s identity being revealed, and with Kraven the Hunter rumored for the sequel, it just might not be worth trying to give Deadpool a cameo. Regardless, fan art like the one above is always a fun way to imagine what it could look like if Deadpool and Spider-Man teamed up in Spider-Man 3.
