There are only 100 days left until Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters. Not only does Star Wars 9 conclude the sequel trilogy that started with 2015’s The Force Awakens, it wraps up the classic Skywalker saga that’s been ongoing since 1977. There will, of course, be more Star Wars movies in the future, but they’ll be telling entirely separate narratives.

A post on the Star Wars UK Twitter page reminded people that there are just 100 days remaining until Star Wars 9 debuts in theaters. Check it out for yourself in the space below:

While there’s not really anything in the way of fresh footage here, the clip’s still a nice little reminder that the movie will be here before we know it. And again, we imagine a lot more is coming down the pipeline. After all, this is the last theatrical release for the franchise for a while, so you can bet that Lucasfilm will be doing everything they can to make sure it meets or even surpasses the $2 billion mark at the box office.

By the time The Rise of Skywalker premieres, it will have been 19 months since a new Star Wars movie played in theaters, and everyone from casual viewers to die-hard enthusiasts will want to see how the saga comes to a close. As it should be, a new Star Wars movie arriving feels like a major occasion and a huge pop culture event.
