Christian Bale is in talks to join the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder.
According to Collider, Thor: Love and Thunder Bale is in talks to play an undisclosed role in the film. Marvel and a representative for Bale did not comment on the story, meaning Bale’s involvement is not officially confirmed at this time.
The Oscar-winning actor is no stranger to comic book adaptations, portraying Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy between 2005-2012. While Bale’s appeared in a couple other genre pictures outside of Batman (most notably Terminator Salvation), he’s largely stayed away from big-budget tentpole fare throughout his career, opting instead to star in director-driven projects such as American Hustle, The Big Short, and Vice. That’s worked out quite well for Bale, seeing he earned Academy Award nominations for all three of those films.

Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth installment in the title God of Thunder’s solo franchise and the first since Avengers: Endgame. At this time, little is known about the movie’s plot. However, Natalie Portman will reprise her role as Jane Foster. This time, though, she’ll be taking a page from her comic book counterpart and become the “Mighty Thor.”
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 5, 2021.
