Director Taika Waititi revealed that the fan-favorite character Korg will be joining the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder.
While promoting his film Jojo Rabbit, Waititi appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about his film. A good portion of the interview talked about Waititi playing Adolf Hitler in Jojo Rabbit and how he pitched the film to Fox, but Waititi was also asked about Thor: Love and Thunder in the last few minutes of the interview. Waititi briefly talked about Portman returning as Jane Foster, before confirming that his character Korg would also come back in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Voiced by Waititi himself, Korg made his debut in Thor’s third Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Thor: Ragnorak. Most recently, the Kronan gladiator made a cameo alongside his companion Miek in the record-breaking Avengers: Endgame.
Announced by Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Thor: Love and Thunder will see Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) don the mantle of Thor, possibly even adapting the character’s breast cancer storyline from the comics.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters on Nov. 5, 2021.
