Marvel star Natalie Portman is already preparing for her role as the Goddess of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder. Her unexpected return to the MCU was officially confirmed during Marvel’s grandiose Hall H panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. It was announced on July 16 that Waititi would be returning to the director’s chair for Thor’s fourth installment, and following his mini-presentation for the film during Marvel’s 90-minute panel, he surprised the crowd with Portman’s return to Thor’s cosmic universe.
On Instagram, the actress shared a story showcasing the trade paperbacks she’s currently reading to get prep for the role. The story featured four volumes of The Mighty Thor: “Thunder In Her Veins,” “Lords of Midgard,” “The Asgard/Shi’ar War” and “The Death of the Mighty Thor.” The actress then tagged Marvel, of course, with a simple caption: “Werk.”
Portman’s Instagram story caught the attention of Aaron, who cared a screen cap along with the message, “Looks like Natalie’s already getting that thunder in her veins.”
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters on November 5, 2021.
