A new piece of merchandise for the upcoming DC Extended Universe film Wonder Woman 1984 reveals the first look at Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah.
On the merchandise, which looks to be a coffee mug spotted at CCXP in Brazil, we get a drawing of the character looking a bit fierce while dressed in cheetah-patterned clothing. The character doesn’t appear to be fully transformed into the form that comic book fans are most familiar with, but even with this look, it’s definitely a big shift from the first-look at Wiig’s Barbara Minerva that director Patty Jenkins shared in June 2018.
You can check out this new first look at Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah in Wonder Woman 1984 down below:
Cheetah was created by William Moulton Marston and is the archnemesis to Wonder Woman. In Wonder Woman 1984, Kristen Wiig’s take on the character is based on Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva, a British archaeologist who stumbles into an ancient ritual in the lost city of Urzkartaga and becomes the host to their Cheetah goddess.
Directed by Patty Jenkins from a script she co-wrote with David Callaham and a treatment she developed with Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Natasha Rothwell, Ravi Patel, Gabriella Wilde, Connie Nielsen, and Robin Wright.
Wonder Woman 1984 is set to hit theaters on June 4, 2020. Stay tuned for the latest news on the film, Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah and the future of the DCEU!
