A new promo video for Disney+’s 2023 originals reveals the first look at Loki season 2, Ahsoka, and more coming to Disney’s streaming service. It has been over three years since Disney+ launched and gave Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, and more studios under Disney’s umbrella a new avenue to release content. 2022 was another massive year for the streaming service, as new Star Wars and Marvel Cinematic Universe shows headlined the slate of original content.
With 2022 nearing its end, Disney has now released a Disney+ 2023 trailer to get subscribers excited for what is coming next year, including the first look at Loki season 2, Ahsoka, and other new releases. There are also snippets of new footage from Secret Invasion and The Mandalorian season 3. Disney also shared the first footage for new originals like American Born Chinese and Pixar’s Win or Lose, as well as the live-action remake Peter Pan and Wendy. Check it out below:
Every Confirmed 2023 Disney+ Original Release
The Disney+ 2023 trailer offers a snapshot of the original programming that subscribers will get next year, but it is only a fraction of what is already confirmed to be on the way. Marvel Studios will keep Disney+ subscribers busy throughout the year. Loki season 2 and Secret Invasion were highlighted in this video, as was the upcoming Disney+ release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There are also confirmed plans to release Ironheart, Echo, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos next year, while Marvel’s What If…? season 2 and X-Men ’97 are also expected. Marvel’s 2023 movies will also eventually release on the streaming service too.
The new footage of Rosario Dawson’s return as Ahsoka Tano in Ahsoka and the tease of The Mandalorian season 3 are a few of the Star Wars shows Lucasfilm has planned for 2023 releases. The Mandalorian returns in March, while no release date has been announced for Ahsoka. There are plans to release a new live-action show, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, during the next year. Audiences will also see the return of Star Wars: The Bad Batch for season 2 in January. There is even a chance that Star Wars: Visions season 2 debuts in 2023.
Elsewhere, the Disney+ 2023 trailer shows a mix of the other live-action and animated originals coming to the service next year. Peter Pan & Wendy marks the latest live-action remake to go to the streamer after the live-action Pinocchio. Pixar’s expanded role in Disney+’s future continues in 2023 with Win or Lose, new episodes of Dug Days, and Monsters at Work season 2. Walt Disney Animation also has Iwájú and Tiana coming next year, while live-action original shows like American Born Chinese and original movies like Crater also coming. The Disney+ 2023 trailer did not highlight all these titles, though, as Loki and Ahsoka headline the exciting slate.
