Warner Bros. Animation and Nickelodeon have released the first trailer for Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as the ninja turtles make their first appearance in Gotham City and collide with Gotham’s Dark Knight.

In the trailer, we see Shredder form an alliance with Ra’s al Ghul, and the sinister duo proceeds to release The Joker and several other Bat-villains from captivity. In fact, the cast is especially extensive considering the average runtime of these types of projects.

The original story arc from which this is based was written James Tynion IV, with art by Freddie Williams II. The six-issue series saw Shredder and the Turtles transported to an alternate universe by Krang, only to end up in Gotham City, at odds with the Bat and his rogues gallery. The movie is expected to follow the comics pretty closely.

As for voice talent, Troy Baker will pull double duty, voicing both Batman and The Joker — something never done in one movie before. Baker has plenty of experience voicing Gothamites in animation and video games, with past credits including Batman, Joker, Jason Todd, Two-Face, Tim Drake and others throughout the LEGO DC and Arkham series of games.

Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is scheduled to be released in late spring on Blu-ray, 4K UHD and Digital HD.
