Jeremy Renner in Hawkeye

Disney+ and Marvel Studios debut a funny new Hawkeye trailer seeing Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop messing up her rescue of the titular hero. Jeremy Renner returns to lead the cast as Clint Barton alongside Steinfeld in her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Barton’s protégé, Vera Farmiga, Fra Free, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James, Alaqua Cox, Linda Cardellini and Florence Pugh reprising her Black Widow role of Yelena Belova. Hawkeye will not only introduce Kate Bishop to the MCU but also Maya Lopez aka Echo, with a spin-off series currently in the works for Cox’s character.

Hawkeye is set sometime after the events of Avengers: Endgame with Barton taking his kids to New York City for a fun family holiday. He finds his plans upended when those seeking revenge for his actions as Ronin between Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame come after him, having to resort to super-fan and protégé Bishop to settle the matter so that he can make it home in time for Christmas. As the highly anticipated series nears its arrival, Marvel is looking to keep anticipation high with a special new look.

With less than a month to go until it premieres, Marvel has released a new trailer for Hawkeye. The video comes jam-packed with action sequences seen in previous footage but also new humorous moments involving Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, including her failed attempt to rescue Barton from a group of thugs. Check out the trailer below:

Since word first broke that the series was in the works with Bishop set to be introduced into the MCU, audiences have been eagerly awaiting the debut of Steinfeld’s character and the new Hawkeye trailer is sure to build that anticipation up higher. While most of the footage has been seen in previous trailers for the show, the failed rescue attempt gets a nice expansion in the teaser as she delivers her own little quip to the enemies in front of her. The video also offers a fun look at her super-fandom for the titular hero, brimming in telling an elevator companion about getting to work with him and excited about the opportunity to utilize his trick arrows.

The marketing for Hawkeye has nicely highlighted the comedic nature of the latest Disney+ MCU series, capitalizing on the humor Renner has displayed in his previous outings as the titular hero. The new trailer for the show also gives another good look at the soon-to-be-viewer-favorite Lucky the Pizza Dog, donning a Santa hat as he relaxes with a recovering Clint. The wait is nearly over for the next chapter in the MCU as the first two episodes of Hawkeye hit Disney+ on November 24.
