The Annabelle Comes Home trailer has arrived and it pays off the talk of James Wan’s company creating a Conjuring Universe. It not only brings everything together in one movie, but it also uses the words “Welcome to the Home of the Conjuring Universe” in the trailer.
Where the previous two Annabelle films took place prior to Wan’s first Conjuring, this summer’s spinoff picks up shortly after that movie’s prologue. Young Captain Marvel herself, Mckenna Grace, stars here as the Warrens’ ten-year old daughter Judy, who is forced to battle Annabelle when the demonic doll awakens the evil spirits in the cursed artifacts room where she’s been stored. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are returning as Ed and Lorraine Warren in the film, but their role is expected to be supporting in nature.
The trailer also shows a number of items seen in the past movies in the Conjuring Universe, as it finally ties everything together in one film. From the look of the trailer, this is The Avengers for demonic relics as Annabelle awakens the evil spirits in the Warren’s artifacts room.
Annabelle Comes Home is written and directed by Gary Dauberman and stars Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Mckenna Grace and Madison Iseman. James Wan, who directed both core Conjuring films, will produce. The film hits theaters on June 28.
