Disney has released a new teaser trailer for Maleficent sequel Mistress of Evil.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the follow-up to the Angelina Jolie-starring Sleeping Beauty prequel, was being moved to 2019 from its original 2020 release date. Ever since that announcement, fans have been awaiting the first trailer for the film. Finally, on Monday evening, the wait paid off.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil picks up several years after Maleficent, in which we learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora. The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil hits theaters nationwide October 18.
