VH1 has unleashed another trailer from their 3-night event “Scream: Resurrection” today, teasing the Halloween horrors that await when Ghostface strikes again.

The new trailer for the slasher series’ third season includes explicit reference to John Hughes classic The Breakfast Club, seminal tale of a weekend detention that brings a group of disparate teens together. We see the supervising teacher refer to his detention group as a “breakfast club,” and a voiceover from one of the other characters establishes the parallels between the new series and its inspiration.

The six-episode “Scream: Resurrection” will debut Monday, July 8 and run for two hours per night starting at 9 p.m. and running through Wednesday, July 10.

Season three centers on Deion Elliot (RJ Cyler), a local star football running back, whose tragic past comes back to haunt him and threaten his hard-earned plans for the future … and the lives of his unlikely group of friends.

Scream stars RJ Cyler, C.J. Wallace, Keke Palmer, Tyga, Giorgia Whigham, Jessica Sula, Giullian Yao Gioiello, Tyler Posey, and Mary J. Blige. It is a co-production of Dimension Television, MTV Production Development, and Flavor Unit Entertainment.
