The first trailer for The Expendables 4 has officially been released.
The Expendables 4 (stylized as Expend4bles) sees Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture return to the franchise alongside newcomers Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Andy Garcia and Iko Uwais. The film is directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor, Need for Speed) with a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer, Tad Daggerhart and Max Adams.
A description of the film reads, “A new generation of stars join the world’s top action stars for an adrenaline-fueled adventure in Expend4bles. Reuniting as the team of elite mercenaries, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone are joined for the first time by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia. Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.”
The Expendables franchise began in 2010 with a story that was co-written and directed by Stallone. In addition to the Rocky Balboa and Rambo actor, the first Expendables also starred Statham, Jet Li, Lundgren, Courte, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke, along with cameo appearances from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. The Expendables 2 followed in 2012 and brought in Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris, while 2014’s The Expendables 3 co-starred Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Glen Powell, Kelsey Grammer, Victor Ortiz, Ronda Rousey and Kellan Lutz.
The Expendables 4 releases theatrically on Sept. 22, 2023.
