It appears the Batwoman pilot is going to start production very soon, according to recent reports. Production-tracking blog Hollywood Buzz first reported that the pilot will begin filming this March.

According to the blog, the pilot is set to film in Vancouver, Canada. Batwoman will join the ranks of many popular D.C. shows set in CW’s official Arrowverse. The new D.C. series will bring in showrunner Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries/Smallville) to lead the project through  production.

Batwoman (Ruby Rose) made her debut in the Arrowverse last year during the Elseworld’s crossover event which featured Green Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. Batwoman appears as the heroes visit Gotham City while searching for clues about an evil scheme implemented by an Arkham Asylum doctor.

In the comics, Batwoman was reintroduced in 2006 as an openly lesbian socialite who wears a cape and fights crime in Gotham City. Per the series’ official logline, “Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

Currently, there is no official release date for the Batwoman series. Below you can check out Batwoman’s debut in Elseworlds.
