Boba Fett and Baby Yoda

A new piece of fan art shows Boba Fett meeting Baby Yoda in season 2 of The Mandalorian. The first-ever live-action Star Wars series was among the most anticipated Disney+ shows before launch, and now that season 1 is available to stream, people still can’t stop talking about the show. The series proved to be incredibly successful for Disney, with season 2 in post-production and The Mandalorian season 3 already in development.

The Star Wars series continued making headlines this week when it was announced that Boba Fett would appear in The Mandalorian season 2. Temuera Morrison will be playing the character which keeps continuity with the film side of Star Wars since Morrison played Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II-Attack of the Clones and recorded lines as Boba Fett for the special edition of The Empire Strikes Back. With as popular as Boba Fett is among Star Wars fans, fan art is already beginning to flood the internet of the character in The Mandalorian.

Digital artist Ultraraw26’s newest artwork shows Boba Fett meeting Baby Yoda for the first time. Din Djarin can also be seen in the piece wearing his Beskar armor and the jetpack he got in episode 8 of season 1. Ultraraw26’s original Instagram post can be seen below:

While Boba Fett is coming to The Mandalorian season 2, he isn’t the first big character announced for the season. The Mandalorian will also include Ahsoka Tano, with Rosario Dawson taking on the role made famous in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Captain Rex and Sabine Wren may also show up in the season, but neither has officially been confirmed yet. The series will of course also expand on the existing characters in the show and possibly answer questions like how Moff Gideon got the Dark Saber or what the Empire wants with the Child.

Star Wars fans were no doubt thrilled to hear that Boba Fett would be included in The Mandalorian season 2, although many fans believed he was the individual that walked up to Fennec Shand’s body at the end of episode 5, “The Gunslinger.” With Boba Fett returning, it means that the character definitely survived the Sarlacc Pitt, but what he’s been doing since Return of the Jedi is still a mystery. It’s possible that he remained faithful to the Empire after its downfall, which means he could be working for Moff Gideon. Needless to say, when (and if) Boba meets Baby Yoda, it likely won’t be as peaceful as this fan art imagines.
