Chadwick Boseman doesn’t want Black Panther to get a Disney+ series.

One popular Marvel character who apparently won’t be coming to Disney+ is Black Panther, or at least, if the character does arrive it will have to do so without the movie’s star Boseman in the lead. As Boseman revealed in a recent interview with MTV International, he has no interest in reprising the role of T’Challa on the small screen. When asked which Marvel character he’d like to team up with the actor replied with a chuckle:

I wouldn’t because I don’t want to do a TV show. I wouldn’t choose one so I can’t answer that. Like, I have a whole list of things that I’m excited about. And so, none of those are franchises.

In discussing the Black Panther 2, Boseman noted he’s interested in exploring the setting and finding out new things about his particular section of the MCU, as long as the foundation that was established in the first film is honored.

As for Disney+’s other Marvel fare, fans still have The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Hawkeye, Loki, She-Hulk, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel and more to look forward to.

The Black Panther sequel was officially announced at SDCC in July and is currently in development. Ryan Coogler is returning as writer and director of Black Panther 2, with Chadwick Boseman, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira and Martin Freeman all reprising their roles from the first movie. The film releases May 6, 2022.
