Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier concept art reveals Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes’ (Sebastian Stan) Captain America costumes.
Earlier this year, Marvel concluded the story arc for Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) as the character retired from his life as a superhero and passed on the shield and mantle of Captain America to his friend Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie). Anthony Mackie is now set to reprise his role as Sam Wilson in the upcoming Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier which will be the first Marvel Studios series to arrive on the new streaming service.
Included in Disney+ and Marvel’s Expanding the Universe special is a first look at The Falcon and the Winter Soldier concept art revealing new Captain America-inspired costumes for both Mackie’s Sam Wilson and Stan’s Bucky Barnes. Additional concept art features Sharon Carter suited up in tactical gear, while another piece of art showcases US Agent in a costume reminiscent of Captain America’s. Check out the art below.

Mackie’s new costume more resembles that of the Falcon in the Marvel Comics than the one Sam Wilson wears when he’s Captain America, however that may be part of the character’s journey in the Disney+ series. Although Steve Rogers officially passed the Captain America shield onto Sam Wilson at the end of Avengers: Endgame, it will presumably take some time for both Sam and those around him to get used to the idea of him donning that mantle. Plus, rumors have indicated that in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the U.S. government doesn’t want Sam Wilson to be Captain America, which seems to be confirmed by the inclusion of US Agent. Perhaps by the end of the series, Sam Wilson will get another costume, one more in line with the character’s Captain America suit from the comics.
