George Lucas holds The Mandalorian‘s breakout star Baby Yoda in what is quite possibly the perfect Star Wars photo.
Thanks to a new photo shared by Favreau on Twitter, fans can see the creator of the entire Star Wars franchise holding The Child. The image shows Lucas on the set of The Mandalorian holding the internet star. It is unclear when this photo was taken though, as it was previously confirmed Lucas went to the set during season 1. However, season 2 of the series is already filming, so this could be a sign that Lucas is once again visiting the production. Either way, the image is a delightful piece of content as fans wait for more episodes.
Following his debut at the end of The Mandalorian‘s premiere episode, the mysterious being fans have dubbed “Baby Yoda” quickly became a fan-favorite character from the Star Wars universe — joining Pedro Pascal’s eponymous bounty hunter on his exploits throughout the galaxy. The Disney+ series comes over 40 years after Lucas’ original Star Wars film first hit theaters in the summer of 1977.
The Mandalorian recently concluded its 8-episode first season. Per Favreau himself, a second is expected to arrive this fall. What’s more, photography on The Mandalorian Season 2 was revealed to have begun not long after Season 1 premiered.
Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito and Emily Swallow. Season 1 is streaming now on Disney+. Season 2 is slated to arrive fall 2020.
