Netflix’s controversial series Insatiable just picked up Grey’s Anatomy actor Alex Landi for a recurring role in the series.
Alex Landi is best known for his role as the first gay male surgeon on Grey’s Anatomy. Playing as Dr. Nico Kim who is of Asian descent, he became an instant favorite among fans. During an interview with Gay Times, he expressed his desire to get rid of stereotypes and hopefully give people a different look on the LGBTQ community. However, fans may question his decision to cast in the Insatiable TV series as it is not a favorite among many.

Insatiable follows an obese teenager who eventually becomes thin and wants to get revenge on those who bullied her for her weight. The show intends to criticize society’s standards of beauty in a satirical way. Fans are offended by the content and characters and the series has been filled with criticism ever since its debut on Netflix last year. Despite critics labeling the series as an “offensive mess” and wishing for the show to be canceled, Netflix renewed the series for a second season and picked up Alex Landi along the way.
Details about the role Landi will play in the controversial series still remain under wraps.
Lauren Gussis executive produces with Ryan Seacrest, Nina Wass, Andrea Shay, Todd Hoffman, Dennis Kim, and Andy Fleming.
