Sir Patrick Stewart’s Star Trek: Picard has been renewed for a second season on CBS All Access.

According to Deadline, CBS has ordered a 10-episode second season, with the network receiving $20.4 million in tax incentives from the state of California to help finance the production. While no start date has officially been announced, principal photography may begin as early as this spring.

Picard takes place eighteen years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, where the eponymous Starfleet officer retired to run his family vineyard in France. However, a new series of events brings Jean-Luc back into space for a new adventure spanning the cosmos.
