The first trailer for The Mandalorian has officially been released online.

The first official trailer for the show was released today at D23 Expo. The trailer offers a deeper look at director John Favreau’s vision for the first live-action Star Wars show. The series will follow Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian bounty hunter as he traverses Tatooine. Previously, Favreau said the series will evoke the “freakier side” of Star Wars, drawing on influences like the first film, A New Hope, and the Mad Max film franchise.

Lucasfilm is definitely excited for what the series brings to the table, as they’re already working on a second season. Star Wars has multiple series in the works for Disney+ (including the long-awaited Obi-Wan series), but The Mandalorian appears to be set up as one of the streaming service’s crown jewels. Hopefully, it can live up to that potential. This trailer does a good job of generating hype and buzz, but time will tell if the final product delivers. Thankfully, fans don’t have to wait much longer until The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. The series debuts Nov. 12 on Disney+, the same date as the streaming service’s official launch.
