Agents of SHIELD star Ming-Na Wen will have a role in The Mandalorian. Disney and Lucasfilm are only a few months away from the launch of the first live-action Star Wars TV show. The Mandalorian will call Disney+ it’s home and will be one of the premiere exclusive titles available at the launch in November. As a result, a lot is riding on the series, and plenty of people from the Disney extended family are working on it.
“I have hit every bucket list thanks to Disney,” Wen said of the news, which was announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger during the Legends panel.
“When people ask me how I get my inspiration for all these strong female role models… it’s my mom. And she’s here. Single mom, held down 3 jobs to raise her kids, met my stepfather and he was able to bring us to America, and she is a woman warrior! Through and through,” Wen shared during her speech.
Given her action background, Wen should be a perfect fit for The Mandalorian, which follows a lone gunfighter after the fall of the Galactic Empire. After all, the Mulan actor performs many of her own stunts on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ on November 12th. Wen will also be returning to Agents of SHIELD for the seventh and final season, which is expected to premiere next summer.
