The Continental John Wick Series Trailer

The first trailer for The Continental has arrived online.

Peacock has dropped a teaser for the upcoming prequel series, which explores the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins. While the trailer doesn’t reveal much about the three-part event, it does feature iconography that fans of the John Wick franchise should recognize, such as the gold coins that are used as currency in the underworld. The end of the teaser also offers fans their first look at Colin Woodell’s young Winston Scott, a role originated by Ian McShane in the John Wick film series, who briefly stares at The Continental before heading towards its main entrance.

First announced in 2018, the upcoming three-part event series will be told “through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind.” The official series synopsis also reads, “Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.”

The Continental Features Some Familiar Faces

Winston is not the only familiar character from the John Wick films that fans will recognize in The Continental. Ayomide Adegun has been cast as a young Charon, based on the character played by the late Lance Reddick in the films. Peter Greene will also appear as a young Uncle Charlie, a professional cleaner who disposes of bodies and cleans up messy crime scenes for criminals. David Patrick Kelly portrayed an older version of the character in John Wick (2014) as well as in a deleted scene in John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017).
