Star Wars fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano is finally making the jump to live-action.

According to /Film, Daredevil star Rosario Dawson will appear as Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2 on Disney+. This will be the character’s first appearance in live action, after debuting in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars in August 2008.

Voiced by Ashley Eckstein, Ahsoka was introduced as Anakin Skywalker’s padawan in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Though he grudgingly took on the role of her master, they eventually become very close — so much so that she eventually recognized his relationship with Padme and kept that secret for him. She left the Jedi Order prior to Order 66, which allowed her to survive the ensuing massacre. She didn’t find out about Anakin’s transformation until years later in Star Wars Rebels, which takes place about 14 years after the events of Clone Wars. Her voice was also heard during a key moment in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

For some time now, fans have wanted Dawson to play live-action Ahsoka — something she embraced, as well. For years, Dawson has advocated for the role. “There is a whole campaign going on online to get me into Star Wars to play Ahsoka Tano, which would be amazing,” she said back in 2017. As recently as January this year, she voiced support for the casting.

In addition to Daredevil, Dawson also appeared in the Marvel Netflix series Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron First and The Defenders. She recently starred in Zombieland: Double Tap and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. She also voiced Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, The Death of Superman and Justice League Dark.

Notably, The Clone Wars and Rebels creator Dave Filoni has had a hand in developing The Mandalorian. The Disney+ series’ first season even involved a number of The Clone Wars and Rebels elements, including Death Watch and the Darksaber. As such, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Ahsoka — another Filoni creation — is making the jump to live-action as well.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito and Emily Swallow. Season 1 is streaming now on Disney+. Season 2 is slated to arrive this October.
