A trailer for The Mandalorian will reportedly premiere during the D23 2019 Expo this week. Although footage from Disney+’s upcoming live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian was screened exclusively for those in attendance at April’s Star Wars Celebration Chicago, fans from across the rest of the galaxy far, far away have been eagerly anticipating their own first look at the show. Thankfully, that wait appears to be coming to an end.
THR’s interview with Jon Favreau (who executive produced The Mandalorian), mentions the show will “be teased with a trailer at the D23 conference Aug. 23.” It should be mentioned this hasn’t been officially confirmed by Disney (yet), but it makes sense since D23 is a golden opportunity to highlight The Mandalorian.

Should this pan out, it remains to be seen if the Mandalorian trailer will be another convention exclusive or something officially released online. It would arguably be a waste if only D23 attendees could see the footage. The decision to not release a trailer during Celebration in April made sense because the Disney+ launch was still so far off, but now it’s under three months away. Sooner or later, marketing materials are going to have to be released to the masses.
Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. The series debuts Nov. 12 on Disney+, the same date as the streaming service’s official launch.
